cyberpunk 2077
it’s been a while since i wanted to try out the Cyberpunk 2077. i was avoiding it for a while due to its price tag, 80 EUR. recently, i remembered Seyfeddin Bassarac’s blog on instant gratification[1] and wanted to give it a chance and bought it.
i’m playing it for the last couple of days, and my first impressions are good. it’s immersive, very detailed. the main story is so strong. it could be due to my fantasy of leaving corp life behind i chose corpo. even though i saw it’s not suggested to first-timers, i couldn’t help myself but to choose.
the things i like:
- graphics are so good. even though xbox series s isn’t very graphically powerful machine i liked it.
- npc interactions and dialogue options are diverse. although i still couldn’t figure out what really differs between corpo and other classes, maybe i play with others in the future.
- main story is so powerful. i really liked how they unwrap it slowly.
- touch on the each character’s background with small details through dialogues. it’s up to you. if you like to learn more about anyone, you can check the side dialogues.
- i liked the messaging mechanism, which lets you get in touch with NPCs through sms or call. makes the game more immersive and realistic.
the things i don’t like that much;
- driving felt hard. maybe you can open mirrors or something which can help, but i didn’t dig into it since there is an auto-drive option. and i’m neutral on auto-drive when it works; it works pretty good. but sometimes it sucks.
- sex is a very dominant element in the game. all of a sudden, you can hear porn-like sounds while walking in the street because there is an ad somewhere. that could have been less.
as a conclusion, i‘m happy that i gave it a chance. i’ll dig into the side missions to discover the world a bit more.
