  • Advice From a Software Engineer With 8 Years of Experience - link
Recently, my wife passed this article to me. Here are my takeaways from it.
Logging your work is good for updating your CV, debating over a promotion/performance, and keeping an eye on your growth. Blogging is still an important way of developing yourself as a developer. You learn a LOT while preparing a post for a general audience, even though it’s something you already work on, you are paying more attention to the nuances, which makes you understand the subject better. Dipping a toe into the hiring market, even if you are not actively searching for it, might be helpful, especially during these turbulent times. You never know what the future will bring, whether good or bad.

🖥️ The Watchlist

Films and TV series that stuck with me recently.

  • The Conjuring: Last Rites
I don't like horror movies. However, I want to challenge myself to step outside of my comfort zone. After all these years, my wife finally convinced me to watch a horror movie at the theater. We bought our tickets, and when the time came, the film started rolling. We watched The Conjuring: Last Rites. I didn't like it. There were tons of open loops that I couldn't understand. It was so clear that they want to build up the scene of the upcoming spin-offs. Potentially, the story will continue with Warren's daughter and her husband.

All in all, if you haven't watched any horror movies at the theater and are curious about them, you can give it a chance; otherwise, save your money.

  • How Kubernetes is Built with Kat Cosgrove - link
A good interview with Kat Cosgrove who is an equivalent of a principal engineer in open source world. She is one of the maintainers of kubernetes. You’ll hear a lot about kubernetes and the team structure behind it. I enjoyed it a lot.
